Map Reading - Where Is That?: Level B - Speaking Lesson
Students practice prepositions of place and other phrases for giving directions.  An information gap activity calls for students to give directions to each other. They have the same map, but one of them is 20 years out of date!  A lesson for self study accompanies this lesson.  Students must prepare a script to use when calling friends to invite them to a party.  The invitation includes driving directions to their home from school.  Students must record themselves leaving a message for a friend who is not at home when they call.

Describe Someone: Level B - Speaking Lesson
Students talk about different ways to describe themselves and people they know:  Students learn adjectives to describe personality, as well as verbs and adjectives to describe feelings about someone else.  Pairs work together to determine the characteristics of the best and worst kind of spouse, neighbor, and friend.

Job Duties: Level B - Speaking Lesson
In this jigsaw activity, small groups read and discuss the job skills and job duties of people in various positions.  Groups reorganize to share details about the person in their story with new classmates.  A follow-up lesson for self study is included with this lesson: students prepare a talk about their own current skills as well as what they would like to learn to do in the future.

What Do I Need To Do?: Level B - Speaking Lesson
I just got a speeding ticket! What should I do now? Students practice giving advice about how to take care of the ticket.  Modals 'must' and 'should' are used to strengthen or soften suggestions.

What Happened? What's Going On?: Level B - Speaking Lesson
